Why did I wait so long? Omg duh! This is an excellent album I really love it.
Sure, I am big fan of Icehouse / Iva Davies, but this is one of the TOP projects indeed.
So unique, intriguing, moody and fun, wow. Thanks Iva you rock!
Promptly shipped arrived safely. I would buy again. Thanks!

This is not at all what I was expecting from Iva. This is not original material but rather his interpretation of some of his favorite works. Quite an eclectic body of work. Still, with song like Heaven and Love Like Blood, Iva really showcases what a beautiful voice he has. This is another must have for any serious Icehouse/Iva Davies fan. Is there no end to this mans' talents?

I LOVE Icehouse! I already have 2 recordings of Berlin Tapes; The 13 track straight disc and the double disc Tapes & Boxes. When I saw there was an import with extra tracks on it I had to get it. Unfortunately, I blindly bought the disc, it's the Berlin Tapes, it has to be awesome. Not so much. The four extra tracks sound like Boxes rejects. They don't have the same melodic vibe that the rest of the Berlin Tapes has. Instead of ending with the melancholy of "heroes" you are thrust into a jarring synthy soundscape. Uck! This disc sat on my wishlist for months waiting for the price to drop. Were the four songs worth the money spent. No. If you collect all things Icehouse I'd download them instead.

Can't understand at all why, 22 years later, I can't buy these tracks as MP3s on Amazon. This catalog is fantastic and being totally mismanaged by not being in digital file release. I went through dozens of covers of All Tomorrow's Parties to find anything remotely as good as the best Nico version before I finally stumbled over this one, the only one that fully measured up.

This is a truly great soundtrack... if you ever get the chance to see the show life make the effort as it is worth it.

I was introduced to this disc by a friend over a year ago. Since then it has become more treasured than my MOFi disc of Pink Floyd's "Meddle". It is the most emotional, delicate music I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. I am a regular theater goer and I enjoy the sound of a full scale symphony orchestra going from loud to soft in a half second. It raises the hair on the back of your neck. The spacious-ness at the symphony is so much part of the music. The atmosphere is real not projected. Never has a CD given me this feeling before, until the Berlin Tapes. I do have the advantage of a audiophile approved Hi-Fi rig but so do all my other 1000 CDs. This disc puts you 10th row center at the Berlin ballet. Iva is standing front and center with dancers behind him. The orchestra creating a liquid pool of sound. The atmosphere is all here folks. Listen to it and just appreciate the sound.

A wonderful collection of Iva Davies' interpretations of truly unforgetable musical masterpieces - from Talking Heads, Bowie, Eno and others. A shame this very talented musician has not really cracked the consciousness of the musical world. This is a must have item for music lovers

Beautiful arrangements of some great songs (especially Heaven) all well sung however found the heavy use of drum machines use a tad irritating! Heroes (The Athens mix) was the only track to inc real drums

So entstanden Songs von Frank Sinatra "All The Way", Simple Minds "Let There Be Love,
oder David Bowies "Heroes". Eine Interessante Veröffentlichung.
