Not the SACD Remaster!
Description states this is "Hybrid SACD reissue from Analogue Productions - Mastered by Bernie Grundman." But what was received was the original Arista 1991 issue ASIN 07822-18631-2, with a sticker on the CD package with the barcode B00NS815SM covering up the original barcode. Returning as I already have this version, was looking forward to hearing it in SACD/DSD quality.

Her early music was sooo good. Wonderful voice that would walk though the piano. Beautiful music!

haunting and beautiful album

Solace is one of Sarah's earlier works, but it is no less good. Seemingly some sort of mixture of folk music, rock, and pop, the music has a rich style and flavor all its own. In many ways this album is less "mature" and less "edgy" than her later works, but this is made up for with plenty of raw authenticity, emotional nakedness, and heart. Qualities that shine through in "Into the Fire", "Back Door Man", "Home", and "Mercy" (among others).
A must have album for any true Sarah McLachlan fan.

I ordered this CD on 7/28/2023. I just received it minutes ago. I have yet to listen to the album and was happy with the delivery service, though the two other items that were shipped today and scheduled to arrive by 9pm are now delayed until as later as August 3rd. my review here is not about the music or the delivery, but about the attached editorial review and product info which I am quoting now. Editorial Reviews
The Analogue Productions/QRP pressing reissue treatment delivers sonics and luxury packaging second to none for discerning collectors. Now we've given three titles by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan this premier makeover and you reap the benefits: Solace, Mirrorball and Afterglow. Each on 45 RPM LP and Hybrid SACD. Solace, McLachlan's second album, is considerably more mature and musically sophisticated than her 1988 debut, the promising if limited Touch. In fact, this disc is a must-have for McLachlan fans whose first encounter with her work was with her extremely popular later releases, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy and Surfacing. "The opening track, 'Drawn to the Rhythm,' is a habit-forming gem of a song that soars on her smooth and heady soprano and Ronald Jones's addictive drums (though the drone of the billatron in the chorus seems incongruous). The rumbling, electric 'Into the Fire' grooves with a funky bass line; the lovelorn 'Path of Thorns' and 'I Will Not Forget You' are straight-ahead and bluesy. Always wise beyond her years, McLachlan displays a new awakening with introspective songs such as the Sinead O'Connor-esque 'Lost" and "Shelter.' The hymnlike 'Mercy' is the least interesting song — spare in comparison to the others — but it is a wondrous showcase of her multifaceted voice. Without a doubt, Solace is a testament to McLachlan's ever-swelling talent." — Amazon.com Hybrid SACD reissue from Analogue Productions - Mastered by Bernie Grundman. 1. Drawn to the Rhythm 2. I bought this in the belief I was getting the Anologue Productions SACD version. It isn't exactly even the Arista 11 track CD. The barcode says this is manufactured by BMG under license. Be warned that the copy/pasted information above is incorrect.

Great Vinyl Re-issue!

This company always does the best remastering and pressing so the quality is no surprise but to hear these gorgeously arranged songs with so much space between the instruments is a whole new experience of the album.
As always, a gatefold sleeve with lyrics and quality protective sleeves are part of the package.
Plays at 45rpm
