I’m re-ordering because I love this stuff. I read many reviews before the initial purchase. I have nothing negative to say about this brand—it’s a smoothly ground palm sugar.
I’ve tried many sugar alternatives over the years. I have tried so hard to stick with the natural zero-calorie options such as stevia or monk fruit, but they taste too different, and are difficult to use in recipes.
This coconut sugar tastes amazing in my coffee (I normally use brown sugar, so this tastes almost the same).
And it’s easy to use in recipes! I made chocolate chip cookies and used this instead of brown sugar, and they turned out great! I know it still has calories and sugars, but it is at least an improvement that I can stick with.
It’s really close to a 1:1 sugar substitute, but not quite as sweet as white or brown sugar. However, for most of us buying this, we’re trying to cut back on being so addicted super sweet tasting things anyway, so this is a good step towards that goal. You can always add a little more if you want.
