What's in a crockpot? It all depends on what you put in it. Our first meal was roast (browned) and tatters, with some onions, carrots and celery, cooked slow. Throw in a beef seasoning cube, and some salt and pepper, and you got a meal to remember. We like to keep it simple. This little one is easy to clean and easy to store. The locking lid is handy for taking meals to church for potluck, and such like. We like the Crockpot brand.

I had an older 4qt Crockpot that had a lid with a plastic hinge on the back of the lid. It never fit correctly and a small amount of steam/fluid kept bubbling out of the lid and into the heating unit and onto my countertop! Keeping the crock 2/3rds full didn't help. I still had to place a kitchen towel and weights on the top to prevent the irritating mess... Now I found this which has the two locks in the lid that my 5 or 6qt has! I am so thrilled. It took me a while to find this and I bought it in a heartbeat. It works great just as crackpots should! Heartily recommend!!!

I use our new crockpot often. I put frozen chicken in the pot with marinade in the morning a bit of water, put it on high for 5 hours ready just in time for supper. It's the perfect size for two people, and we get plenty of leftovers. I like that it locks tight for travel when we're invited guest for a potluck dinner. I did attempt baked beans, but it can't beat a bean pot in the oven for that. I suppose any casserole to be browned on the top would have to go into the oven otherwise I use this sweet little crockpot for cooking a meal.
