Super cool item that arrived as perfect as it appears in the photo. Sadly, no instructions were included and one spike was a flathead. It was a helluva workout trying to keep it securely latched because the fabric slips and there isn’t a harness to keep both straps from loosening from the tension created when pulling it out of the ground. The extra strap has to be tucked and slightly slows the entire loosening process. To avoid falling, be sure to use a pole for support

The instructions were... extremely lackluster, to say the least, as "Put straps through slots in sandal" is literally most of the instructions for this product. You'll be better off looking up a youtube video if you need assistance in putting them together... I did, because I thought maybe I was putting the straps in wrong, comparing the picture on the box to my nearly finished set. Turns out, once I had them assembled and was strapping them onto my shoes, I found the straps to be barley adequate for my size [USA] 10&1/2 (wide) feet... as in they were almost uncomfortably tight when attempting to secure the spike sandals onto my shoes. I suppose next time i can try a pair of pool shoes instead of my 'lawn sneakers'... but still, the straps could totally be at least another inch longer... or give people the option to order a set with longer straps, for those of us who don't have ballerina feet.

Overall the product works as described... I found myself able to pierce my lawn with relative ease, though as others have noted, some of the spikes did come a little loose while stomping around my lawn... probably from where I was hitting spots with clay-like consistency... though even then it still took minimal effort to get the spikes to bite into the ground.

All in all the product arrive quickly albeit with annoyingly meager instructions, and 'just enough' strap length for my not-so-big feet. Plus, an added bonus, now my neighbors probably think I'm crazy... marching around in my yard like I was doing some methodical stomping fit.

Would recommend for the price... simple to use and cheaper than other lawn aeration options, plus free cardio in the pleasure of your own yard... put that in your pipe and smoke it, Covid-19 lockdowns!

This product is advertised falsely. The picture shows 3 straps per shoe, there's only 2 per shoe, but that wasn't the issue with the straps. The real issue I had with the straps is that they didn't hold my shoe in place. They immediately came loose and made it impossible to walk around in. On a side note, my yard was dry and not wet, so there wasn't a "sticking" issue with the shoe to the ground. Spend $10 more and get the aerator shoes that have laces that you can actually tie with a knot to hold them in place.

Some assembly required - you have to put each spike in place and bolt them, and then you have to thread the straps through. But that's not a big deal. It would have helped to have an illustration of how to thread the straps, I had to experiment a bit to get it right.
Once I figured out the straps, it's a solid design.

This is not a flaw in the product, only in my own use of it, but I wanted to share this information to save others some pain: do NOT try to use this produce while wearing sandals. :) It worked, but the buckles scraped some skin off my ankles. You definitely should wear high-top shoes like in the illustration.
Also, if you use them while mowing (which is the perfect time), debris (especially leaves) will get stuck in the spikes and start to reduce how effective they are. So you should stop occasionally to clean them. It only take a couple of seconds to scrap the leaves and wet grass off.
With those things in mind (wear high-top shoes or boots, and clean the debris out of the spikes sometimes) they work great!

The best thing was that the delivery was very fast. The rest was very disappointing. The package was open when delivered which should have told me something. Two of the straps that hold the shoes on were missing and there were no instructions at all. I tried them anyway. It was a farce. The spikes got stuck in the dirt and when I tried to move them

I bought a set that had been returned. The shoes were a little dirty from the prior owner and missing straps were included with the order and spare parts. I was a little concerned about breaking the spikes or something else but after adjusting the straps to work ideally I slipped them on my size 11 hiking boots and plodded along in my 220 lb. body. I was careful in my walking style to avoid tumbling over or breaking spikes .... and these shoes worked like a champ!! My son also stepped into them with his size 11 1/2 boots and 185 lb frame and sure enough punched holes all over the yard. The straps hung a little long and everything could be either designed or made higher quality but for this price .... it’s a great value. And mine were used/returns .. and I’m ordering another set for my other kids.
