Works great, if you know how it's SUPPOSED to work.
For those of you that watch a YouTube video and think they know everything, then rate products like this with one star... There is a capacitor missing from the enable button also known as the reset button. If you solder/jumper wire a 10uF 10-50v capacitor from enable pin EN to a GND pin(capacitors have polarity), you shouldn't even need to press the boot button when uploading your program. Now, Enjoy! WLED or whatever it is YouTube made you buy this product for.

I wanted to build some temperature sensors for a distant home and have them communicate with my local MQTT broker at a given interval of time. I chose this board and attached a DHT22 temperature sensor and flashed the script using the Arduino IDE. I contemplated powering the boards via battery but instead chose to use a 5V power adapter and appropriate cord.

I read through the reviews here to get some hints on how to flash the firmware as I was new to the process at the time.

The boards have been functioning flawlessly for several months now. I would recommend this board if you are looking for an inexpensive but well crafted ESP32 board.

I have used several different ESP-32 development boards in the past, and I have found these to be the easiest to program and they just work. I have purchased more than 30 of these and haven't had a single failure. They have become my "go to" platform for IoT and various controller projects.

All 3 boards work. There is no documentation from the seller but it is easy to program once you figure out the board type to select in Arduino IDE. All you need is install ESP32 board manager from espressif github json URL and select the board from Tools->Board->ESP32->ESP32 DEV MODULE.

First try to upload Blink program to switch on/off the in-built blue LED. The pin number for in-built LED is 2 for this board.

I've had 18 of these so far for various projects. Of the 18, 3 had some damage to the esp32 package shield, but they still functioned fine. All 18 were flashable and bootable, but one could not connect to a network. It was able to scan and find them just fine, but it could not connect like the other 17 could. It's a bit of a weird failure.
One other minor drawback to these chips is that to flash them you have to hold the boot button and then press the reset button (EN) once and keep holding until the flash initializes.
Overall I'm happy with them and I can accept the minimal failure rate.
