Clear Instructions; Perfect for an 11 yr old; Lots of Fun!
I bought this for an activity with my 14 year old niece (she enjoys robotics and related activities) and she loved it! She actually thought it was very easy, but my other niece (11) ended up participating too and it seemed to be the perfect "difficulty" for her. I ended up stepping back and allowed the 14 year old to help the 11 year old; they seemed to have a great time! They were thrilled to take it outside and watch it go - even the adults were amused (the dog not so much lol) and the smaller children/babies were fascinated. We plan on painting it when I see them again in a couple weeks :)I've never been really mechanically-minded so I was a little concerned about being able to understand it, but the directions are very clear and you don't feel overwhelmed with the number of parts. The pieces are easy to pop out of the wood and, although none splintered, I do like how a small piece of sandpaper is included just in case! You do have to be careful when you put the body (bottom and sides) of the car together, since they can easily pop out if you don't get it just right. Now that the mechanical part is over, I'm really excited to move on to the painting! (My personal favorite part of any project). Overall, I loved this and plan to purchase similar STEM gifts or future family get-togethers or for the kids' birthdays.
