Singer Annie Lennox and guitarist Dave Stewart first received notice in the Tourists, who scored a big U.K. hit in 1979 with a cover of Dusty Springfield's "I Only Want to Be with You." Emerging as the Eurythmics in 1981, Lennox's cabaret-tinged vocal style and Stewart's left-of-center songs took a while to mesh, but when they finally did, with the haunting, hook-filled 1983 No. 1 single, "Sweet Dreams" (accompanied by one of the most striking videos ever made), the two found themselves rocketing to stardom. I had the song Sweet Dreams (Are made of this) on 45 back in ‘83 and played the crap out of it. But I never had the full album on any format. I did have their greatest hits cd in the 90’s though. I have never heard This album in its entirety. I got this album today and dropped the needle, and I am So Happy with this record!!! It sounds Amazing! I love the entire album. The sound quality makes it easy to enjoy this record from start to finish! Wide soundstage, great fidelity, great separation, etc., etc. Sweet Dreams makes my living room sound like a nightclub! There is nothing negative to say about this pressing or it’s packaging. Fantastic trip back to my favorite year of the 80’s!

Opinar, a estas alturas, de éste clásico, es redundar en lo obvio. si bien no es mi disco favorito (sin suda lo es "Touch") de este grupo imprescindible en cualquier biblioteca musical, es una declaración de intenciones en toda regla y un canto a la libertad cretiva (que llevarían aun más lejos en su siguiente disco "touch"). quizás hoy no sorprenda el tema que da título al disco "Sweet Dreams", de tan sobreexplotado que ha sido durante décadas, pero os aseguro que en su momento fue un soplo de aire fresco, y rompedor, como tantos temas de otros grupos de la época. Aunque confieso que tampoco es mi tema favorito del disco. Lo es sin dudar el que abre el disco " Love is a Stranger"
Un disco variopinto, que huye de la monotonía y la autocomplacencia, en el que no sobra nada, ni falta nada. empezando por su acertadísimo diseño de portada.
Aparte de cualquier alabanza a este clásico imprescindible, recalcar que la edición en vinilo está a la altura. No tengáis miedo en reponer aquella copia original que ya tenéis desgastada de tanto girar y girar. No vais a notar diferencia.
