Okay, to get the most out of any bluetooth speaker, you MUST download Jet Audio and Equalizer from Google Play store. I DL the free version and added one of the enhancements for $2.99, well worth it. I have not been impressed with an MP3/music playing software like this since Winamp back in the 90s. Plugging JetAudio here? Yes...this REALLY lets you maximize the capabilities of the OS2. The OS2 can handle and benefits from getting a treble, bass, wideness, automatic gain control, 10 band equalizer (20 with paid version). Whenever a BT speaker is being rated reviewed, it should be mandatory that the same music player be used or at least stated. Some music sounds better right out of the box, most can use some processing, especially if you are not fortunate enough to have the latest and greatest BT versions.
I returned the Rav Power powerbank (RPB) due to packaging and whether I was being sold used devices (see my review on that products page). Anyways, the new battery is pretty much better condition and looks better, but is most likely the same manufacturer. It has been powering my OS2 for about 8 hours, will report back after it runs out of power. I had not fully charged the OS2 before using it the first time! It ran for 4+ hours (internal battery only) with various music at about a 7 setting off a galaxy Tab 4 tablet, using jetaudio.
THIS ALLOWS THE OS2 TO REALLY SHINE! That is whay the JA comments. Will update as needed.

=============12-20-15 UPDATE ON BATTERY DURATION============
I used the speaker unplugged for 2 hrs 5 mins on a Galaxy Tab 4 at a volume level of 9. I was running the speaker off the wall charger, unplugged it while playing and the volume does drop but not drastically. I played classical for about half that time, then some light rock and pop music. I turned it up to 10 halfway through which is plenty loud for average listening. Not every speaker powers a party, though this one will (indoor or out).
=============12-27-15 UPDATE ON BATTERY DURATION============
going on 3 hrs this morning. Mostly classical.
=============12-27-15, later that day...
Going on 5.5 hours at 6-10 sound level, 15 is max from my Galaxy S4 tablet. Fully charged Onyx 2.

++++++++++++++UPDATE ON USING EXTERNAL; POWER BANK ====== 12-27-15 ++++++++++++++
Some reviewers posted cryptic comments about using an external power bank to charge the battery. I ordered a RAV Power (RPB) 23,000mAh power bank just to test this, as of now, theory. Not just any power bank will work. It has to be one that has various voltage settings. The OS2 needs 19v, the power bank has the capability (along with approx 4 other voltage settings). The RPB also comes with several different connectors for fitting various devices, including laptops!) The reviewer does not state that 19v dc is needed, but sticks to one particular brand I have never used or heard of. May be a great battery, do not know. I have and am using RAV Power devices with no complaints after 6 months usage. RPB I am using is this one :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HFMUBYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is coming today 12/27/15, discharging the speaker to try and run it off the battery when it arrives (will charge the RPB prior to using it with the OS2. Will update review after testing and timing duration.

Are you frickin kidding me? For under $200 you get SUPERIOR sound, cool looks and portability? Bose mini sound link, please...kids toy compared to this. IE Boom...love it but I would abandon it for this in a heart beat (if I had to). Love my JBLs and they have better value and sound/quality for their pricing than most other brands(I own 3 different models, will keep using them for ultimate portability and buy as gifts). But this speaker is ridiculously good! How other speakers can price themselves at the same price or even a bit higher than these and not be embarrassed is beyond me.
Portability:
-Not the most portable, weight and stand design (does not retract or detach) make carrying it around in your backpack cumbersome at best
-Carrying handle is a recessed area at the top of the speaker. It is easy to carry and hold onto.
-For backyard parties, road trips, and picnics where you drive to your destination and have access to power this is perfect. I always have a small power converter loaded in my jeep. It works perfectly with this speaker. More on power supply later.
-I use my JBLs when carrying around on my person or doing yard work
SOUND:
-Bass is clear, no vibrations when playing most music, even at high volumes. The bass sounds good! I have listened and tried out most popular Bluetooth speakers. The only ones that I would dare compare this speaker to is the UE Megaboom (beats it) and the JBL Extreme. Bose Mini, Beats...no contest,HD wins hands down. Samsung R1-3 (sound comparison only), honorable mention. I actually bought the R1 360 model and loved the sound but it was a one trick pony. No aux input, no aux out, 360 design castrated by an ugly power pack that makes placing it in the middle of a room to take advantage of the design impracticable. Married guy, wife will not like the speaker placed anywhere where the cord can be seen. I returned and then found this for $185.
-Highs and mid-range: good at factory settings. To get thee best sound...use your devices music player's equalizer. This goes for any speaker by the way.
-When played at low volumes, sound does suffer a bit unless you use the equalizer (or you music happens to play well at low volumes). I have presets that I use for low level and LOUD settings. Mid to high volume covered with one setting
POWER:
-It is battery powered when detached from the power pack. It states that it will play for 4 hours or so...it probably will if listening to classical violin or piano at low to low mid volume. My experience to date ALL BT speakers make crazy claims for how long their speaker will last (they ad in parentheses "depending on volume and type of music). I have not tested the duration of the internal battery. I will then update this review.
--This rating is like your MPG for the new car you bought. Do you really get 25 city 32 highway???
-Sound levels will drop when using only Bluetooth. Quality is still there but that volume has to eat up some power when playing. If you unplug it as it is playing, you will hear the volume drop. Can still be played loudly, but battery life will be shortened.
-Unplugged it still beats the other speakers in the sub-$200 class, and most up to $400 range?
-You MUST recharge via wall plug or power converter in your car
--HK...please make next model power bank power-able...I will pay extra for it. There may be, I have not reserached it, wanted an affordable speaker.
CONNECTIVITY/PAIRING:
-Idiot proof BT connection
-Auxiliary in: can plug any device that you can get a 3.5mm jack input connected to (2 red/white RCA plugs for example).
LAST THOUGHTS/RAMBLINGS:
-I have a brother who has a Bose Wave player...this sounds MUCH better, at less than half the price. Not as much functional out of the box as the Bose Wave...but I can plug a CD player, TV, or radio if needed. Most smart TVs make connecting so much easier or at least neater looking. This cranks up, sounds stupid good. Buy it, you will love it. VALUE TO PRICE...THIS IS A STEAL...BUY IT BEFORE THEY RUN OUT OF THESE. BUY 2!
