I've owned a set of Zildjian's Low Volume cymbals for about three months, and I'm very impressed. They sound great, are very quiet, and are extremely durable. Perfect for practice or small gigs. The only downside that I can think of is that the finish starts to turn a little dark after prolonged use... however, it does not affect the sound quality in any way. Another issue is that the bell on the ride cymbal does not sound like a traditional bell. But, the rest of the ride sounds excellent.
However, I also purchased a Zildjian Low Volume L80 10" Splash cymbal as a separate item, but when I opened the package, the cymbal was (I think) a factory defect, because the shape of it resembled a small China cymbal (see the pictures I attached). I think it was pressed upside down... the bell of it is at the same level of its round edge... got bad luck with this purchase. It sounds great though, so I'm keeping it.

These put out incredible sound while still being quiet, if that’s possible.
You still get the richness of a zildjan cymbal, with the muffle of the low volume.
Great for apartments, garages, or anywhere else sound control may be an issues
To be honest, I find it a little too bright and wish it had a deeper tone. Still, it is pretty good and I plan to keep it as my main ride cymbal.

I thought the 18in crash/ride had stick definition and it does but the 20 ride is crazy.
Its quiet and has an underlying low tone but mostly the main thing that "sticks out" is the stick definition.
Crazy. Quiet and dripping with stick definition.
I thought about it and I suppose a good comparison might be playing your sticks on a tile countertop... I did that a few times when I was a kid and all you hear is your wooden sticks... pretty much only the attack sound of the sticks. That is very similar to this ride but again with a low volume underlying tone pretty much just stick definition. After you stop you can then detect/hear an underlying warm tone with short sustain (drummer talk "fast decay").
Not sure what else to say.
I love this l80 20inch ride it is amazing.
